Bonnie Hammond Egbert was born and grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho. After high school graduation, she attended Ricks College until she married Bill Egbert, from Utah, in the middle of her sophomore year. After living in Utah for 5 years, they moved back to Blackfoot and have been there ever since. Bonnie and Bill have 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls, and 12 grandchildren. They have worked with the Hispanic community through the LDS Church for the last 9 years, and both speak Spanish.
Bonnie has been involved in music all her life and did a lot of accompanying in high school and college. She started composing and arranging music some years ago, and has had four choir arrangements published through Jackman Music (Utah), as well as having 3 others self-published. Bonnie is currently teaching 25 piano students, ranging in age from 8 to 60. She believes strongly in having her students learn hymns or primary songs along with standard piano literature. This is because most piano players will not go on to be concert pianists, but most of them WILL one day have the opportunity to serve others through their music, if they have prepared to do so.
